Hoʻoponopono is an ancient Hawaiian and Polynesian healing art of reconciliation and forgiveness that’s been used for centuries to support, correct, restore, and maintain harmonious relationships between people, Nature and Spirit. A fundamental belief is that harmony in one’s external relationships begins by establishing harmony between one’s own body, mind and spirit.
The process begins with a prayer and repetition. One or more periods of silence are taken for reflection on the entanglement of emotions and grievances. Most problems and grievances have multiple dimensions and layers associated with them. Withholding forgiveness is an especially evil energy that blocks you from receiving.
This mantra empowers you to untangle and release the negative ties that bind through prayer, confession, repentance, and forgiveness- of yourself and others- as it relates to the concept of Total Responsibility, which advocates that everything exists as a projection from inside the human being.
Taking responsibility for everyone’s actions, not only for one’s own is a powerful tool proven to have a profound impact on resolution and restitution.
Using these 4 phrases in conjunction with intention has the power to heal any relationship, as it did mine.
